Go becomes clearer and more engaging when it is learned alongside a dedicated mentor. In Romania, coaches and instructors in several cities organize training courses for children, beginners, and those aspiring to high performance. The training is tailored to each level and emphasizes strategic understanding, discipline, and practical experience. With the right support, progress becomes consistent, and participating in competitions turns into a natural experience.
The Romanian Go Federation develops programs dedicated to instructors and coaches (focused on developing the specific skills required to teach the game of Go), as well as training programs for high-performance players, in order to build, step by step, a solid system of education and performance in Go in Romania.
Main Directions
Skills Development Program for Instructors and Coaches
Led by Cătălin Țăranu (5p), this program is designed for those who wish to strengthen their Go teaching within a structured, modern framework tailored to different ages and levels (methodology, level-based curriculum, group management, assessment and feedback, standardization of materials and teaching practices).
National Team Training Program
Designed for high-performance players, with a focus on training, analysis, and competitive goals, and allowing the participation of guest players depending on level, needs, and progress targets.
Official Recognition
National School of Coaches
For official recognition of their progress, the Romanian Go Federation provides guidance and administrative support for registration and certification through the National School of Coaches, in accordance with the schedule and documentation published by CNFPA. Through these initiatives, the Romanian Go Federation aims to strengthen a community of instructors, coaches, and players aligned with a common teaching standard, equipped with compatible resources and clear pathways for progress, capable of supporting the development of Romanian Go at all levels.

Codrin Vasiloancă-Smirnov became a Go instructor within the Romanian Go Federation in 2010.
